What does the name mean?
Little bluestems are slow growing bunching grasses that can grow up to six feet and are one of the primary grasses of the Great Plains. The blue-green foliage provides a great backdrop for prairie flowers in summer, turning a striking crimson in fall with fluffy, silver seed-heads.

internship program
Little bluestem baby offers internships three times a year: Fall and spring semesters plus summer. Currently we have been working with students in the Textile department at the university of kansas, but applications are open to students from any university. students work shoulder-to-shoulder in our lawrence studio participating in all facets of running a small business from design decisions and apparel sewing to website updates and market research. applications are accepted throughout the year. to apply, please email a cover letter and resume.
